Caleb decided to participate in the town spelling bee this year with his friends, Leo and Christopher. Can you guess what the theme for their team was?
The Super Mario Spellers consulted together before spelling each word on a whiteboard.
The auditorium was full of cameras clicking, kids running, babies crying, parents chatting, etc. That's a lot of distraction for a Super Mario Speller, but Caleb's team ended up spelling every word right.
It was a spelling bee where "everyone wins" and you're given the list of 50 or so words ahead of time. Even if you spell the word wrong, nobody calls you out on it. Leave it to Caleb to turn this into a speed race to make it more exciting. Here we see the Super Mario Spellers, triumphant again.
The bee ended with every kid winning a spelling t-shirt big enough for an NFL offensive lineman. Smiles all around!

I love the Mario hat that Caleb was wearing! What a great activity for Belmont to sponsor. What was the level of difficulty of the spelling words? My great grandparents met at a town spelling bee when she beat him spelling daguerreotype.
