But come he did! Paul Revere shouted, "Hurrah! Hurrah!" as he rode past the cheering crowds. Must be some kind of celebrity rush. Here's the best shot we have of Mr. Revere.
Or was it Paul? Someone else came riding along shortly afterwards and I was unsure what whether he was a back-up Paul, or another person altogether. He got just as much cheering. Someone in this very educated crowd told me this man was William Dawes, the unsung hero of the midnight riders.
Here's a link to a short poem about the man, in case you're interested. It makes him sound a tad bitter, which doesn't seem fair for this jolly man.
Anyway, here we are, as close as can be to old Paul. While this picture was taken, the man in the yellow jacket was yelling at us for being too close.

Elise, no one can relate a story quite like you. Thanks for the cheap entertainment -- sure makes up for the lame Rangers game we're watching right now! That Caleb really knows how to work the angles in front of a camera. Have you been watching ANTM with him?
Olise,
It is so GREAT to have your photo blog up and running once again! It inspired us to read about Revere, Dawes, and Prescott, the 3 riders of most note during the night warning to Massachusetts that "the Regulars are coming.!" Your photos are exquisite, as usual, and I think it is great that you are taking advantage of the history and legacy of that wonderful state where you are rearing your children. It is nice to have a photo blog that is not only fun to read, but educational as well.
Love,
Dad
By any chance, was Patriot's Day on April 18? Benson has been given 3 Paul Revere books because he was born on the same day! We are growing a Paul Revere fanatic!
This is all well and good, so long as your kids don't come to be fans of THOSE Patriots.
