We watched the Red Sox play the Phillies at Fenway with the McAllisters and my parents. We weren't the most popular family there in our Phillies gear, but somehow we lived to tell the story. John and Karisa marvelled that there was so much less alcohol at Fenway than at a typical Brewers game. Caleb came along, which was fun because he cheered for both teams' players, and Oliver had to stay back so he could finish up his grueling general exams. It took every ounce of his self control to skip the game and work on the test. (He passed, by the way!)
Here's a picture of mom and dad, just two rows up from us (and this photo was taken by Caleb.) This shows we weren't completely unpopular...we at least got along with the nice man in the Phillies jersey sitting near us.
We toured all over with the McAllisters. One night we ate dinner in Concord and let Caleb put on a concert for us, down by the Old North Bridge.
He sang all the songs that his preschool class sang for their special end-of-year concert. (We made do with the technology we had available.)

Afterwards we all got ice cream at a place called Kimball Farms. The McAllisters were a party and a half. We miss you guys!

It was really fun hearing Caleb's vocal concert at the historic Old North Bridge. The mosquitoes loved the captive audience too!
We absolutely loved our time out there in Boston with you guys! It was a wonderful choice for a "last hurrah!" Thanks for rolling out the red carpet for us, and for spending so much time with us when you had SO much on your plates. We miss you guys too!
